It"s tax season! Woo-hoo or Boo-hoo? Today I"m going to share with you 5 easy tips to help stretch your tax refund and turn that frown upside down. Now don"t go on a crazy spending spree once you get that check, this year let"s be savvy spenders! You worked hard for every single penny, so spend it wisely. Question- What is your most expensive monthly bill? For us a few year"s ago it was our cell phone bill... $350 for 2 lines! My husband worked out of state so roaming charges were over the top. Now we save big money with Walmart"s lowest priced unlimited plans.
I love shopping at Walmart, I can find almost anything here plus this is where I get the most bang for my tax refund buck! That"s why I also like to shop for phones here too. Walmart Family Mobile has one for each member of the family. Plans start at only $29.88/month (for the first line) that includes Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data with speeds of up to 500 MB of 4G LTE data.
Finding Walmart"s Family Mobile Phones is never easy, they seem like a hot item on everyone"s list. With these saving who wouldn"t want to give them a try? I had to ask the associate at the register to check if there was a Zte Zmax somewhere, I waited anxiously and tada! He came out with the last box. It was my lucky day! Even he said it, apparently the Zte Zmax and the Zte Zinger fly off the shelf as soon as they"re available. By the way the Zinger is now $19.84! (down from $39.88) Now is the time to jump on this great deal if you have a child who has been begging for a new phone. You can"t get anywhere near these prices on phones or plans anywhere else.
I"ve been having the same accountant since I had my first job, he"s the only one I trust to file my taxes because it"s a headache, I don"t know how he does it. Then again it might be experience. And with that experience I asked him for some advice on making the most out of my tax refund.
5 Tips to #MaxYourTax
Make a Priority list- Start with the most important things you need to clear off such as debt.
Pay off debt- Any kind of loans, borrowed money from family/friends. For me paying off smallest debt helps and gets me into the groove of continuing to pay off the rest. If you"re lucky to have no debt why not get ahead on a few car or mortage/rent payments in advance.
Start an Emergency Fund- Remember saving coins in your piggy bank as a kid? Well start another one. Set a realistic goal. $200, $500, $1,000? This will ease the stress caused by unexpected events such as car repairs, accidents, unemployment. Set a goal and fill up your piggy bank. Below I have my SpongeBob Squarepants emergency fund, with it"s nose missing caused by a 4 year old suspect who was trying to break in but was caught and taken into custody, lol!
Check yourself out in the mirror- What do you and your family need? Maybe a new pair of work or school clothes, shoes, equipment you"ve been putting off. This includes glasses, dental, medical check ups. Now is the time to check these important needs off your list.
Fun Money!- All work and no play is no fun right? Now you can jot down all you"ve been wanting the whole year. Like maybe a vacation, new purse, or new furniture maybe you"r kids have been asking to go to an amusement park. Or what about an upgrade to a new phone?
How will you max your tax refund this year?
