Bajando el ritmo – Slowing down

Montessori en Casa: este momento - this moment

(scroll down for English)

Summer is definitely the time of year when I find it hardest to concentrate and be productive. We are always talking about “following the child”, but sometimes we forget to follow ourselves!

I recently read this post by OyeDeb about rest, cycles and why it is impossible to always give 100%, and it hit me; It is pure logic and yet we strive to go against our needs and our natural rhythms…

So I decided to slow down during July and August. I will publish a post now and then (so you won’t miss me very much ;P) but I will take a break from email and social networks. I will also give vacation to #retomontessori2015, I think it’s a good idea that during July and August we focus on reviewing past challenges to see how we are doing, and so in September we will retake the challenge with more energy, don’t you think?

I hope you enjoy the summer, the beautiful weather, the kids, the holidays and all the little things that make you happy. That’s what I’ll do!

As a mom, I am always looking for ways to nourish her possibilities and help inspire my daughter to dream big. I always tell her she can grow up to be anything she wants, if she has a passion for it and is determined, she will achieve all of her dreams. Growing up, I had a group of very inspiring teachers who always taught us that it did not matter where we came from, all that mattered were our dr ...

How have you kicked off your 2016? Are you sticking to your New Year’s resolutions? I let go of making resolutions a few years ago and just stuck to doing my best, whether it’s to losing some pounds, making healthier choices, or being a little more confident with myself. Last week we ended off the year exercising and going to the park to run up and down the hill. I will confess I didn& ...
