Every woman knows the date, each month we get an unwelcome visit, you know it’s “that time of the month.” It’s especially in the summer time that that unpleasant time of the month gets to be somewhat uncomfortable. From daily activities to our mood, it’s all interrupted. I remember as a teen when I went to work with my mother, Aunt Flow decided to show up and I was feeling terrible. Luckily my mami knew exactly what to do to help me feel better. With a warm cloth to my tummy and a sweet pineapple banana smoothie, I was feeling much better.
Today I would like to give you some easy and useful tips for “that time of the month” along with the recipe to a delicious pineapple banana smoothie.
Stay Hydrated – It is very important to keep yourself hydrated and drink at least 8 glasses of water a day to help eliminate bloating, I tend to be very thirsty during “my time of the month” so I always make sure to carry around my bottle of water everywhere I go.
Light Excercise – One might think that exercise would need to be cut out but in reality, it’s very helpful and may help release some of that stress and increase blood flow. I like to do some yoga or walk a couple of laps at my neighborhood park, it clears the mind and gets me moving.
Warm Baths – After a light workout or a long day at work who wouldn’t love a nice warm bath?! I find warm baths perfect to help ease muscles, speaking of warm try placing a warm cloth of your tummy to ease any pain.
Eat Healthy – As you may already know nutrition is important, somehow I tend to crave all the wrong things during this time. That’s why I try sneaking in healthy fruits and veggies into every one of my meals. And since I tend to crave tons of cold items, I go ahead and make myself something that both nutritious and delicious like this Pineapple Banana Smoothie which I will be sharing the recipe below. This is one my mama used to make me as a teen to help me feel better.
Use Protection You Can Count On – It’s important to use pads that will fit your daily activities and ones that will give you the right protection during day and night.
One of the best ways to stay protected during day and night is by using Stayfree® Ultra Thin® pads, and Stayfree® Maxi Overnight Pads I try to stock up on these female essentials and by using an app to track my Aunt Flow for no unpleasant surprises or leaks. Speaking of leaks, Stayfree® pads feature Thermo Control® Technology, which are inspired by high-performance athletic fabrics to quickly pull moisture away from your body and allow air circulation. This is a unique combination of thin and flexible layers that shape & move with your body throughout the day for a breathable and comfortable worry-free leak protection throughout day and night.
