Now that the holidays are coming up, it’s hard to imagine any child will be going through this type of situation here in the USA. Personally, I’ve been through this as a child when my parents worked hard from dawn til dusk on farms to only make enough to cover the bills, leaving very little to sometimes no money for food. I remember when I would be awoken very early by the noise made by my mom as she rolled flour tortillas in the kitchen to make enough refried bean tacos to last us through the day. A meal I have cherished since then, and although very simple it’s the love she put into it that makes it my favorite.
I hold campaigns like this one very close to my heart because we were helped many times by food pantries to help make ends meet with nutritious food. Which is why I want to share this info with you. Hunger Is has once again partnered with Randalls and is focusing on expanding breakfast programs across the U.S., to help provide children with a healthy start to their day. All we as Randalls customers have to do is purchase participating products which you can find in-store with the Hunger Is sign shown above, and below on all participating product brands.
Since I pack lunch for my daughter, we went ahead and purchased one of her favorite snacks, Pepperidge Farms Goldfish. Along with a few Campbell’s soups and other items. If you’re like me and like to save a little extra by purchasing store brand items, just look for the Hunger Is signs next to them, I picked up some pancake mix and syrup. Couponer? There’s always coupons for Suave and Dial products, and they’re also participating Hunger Is products.
How does this Work?
So for every participating item you purchase = $0.10 donation (up to $1 Million) towards making breakfast happen for children in your community. Help and be the change, every little counts.
Two Ways To Help
Purchase participating items, like the ones above from Sept. 1st-30th
Donate at register: Add $1, $3, $5, or any amount you can to your purchase at check-out.
Let’s be the change in these children’s lives, join the #HungerIsUs campaign.
